Great small town, old school bar and restaurant. Service feels like everyone is a regular. We have had most of the menu - chips and salsa are homemade standouts. Burgers are big and good quality. Fries are great. Chili is good, prime rib is average - we haven't really had anything bad in many trips. This is a great place to support.

Food Awesome. Service atmosphere Hoppin. Nice place live music. Would come back again and again and again.

OK, so we were driving down from Yosemite with our travel trailer and started getting hangry. I did a quick search to see if there was anyplace decent in La Grange and to my surprise, Louise's came up and it looked promising. The place first opened in 1897 and has been in operation ever since and it looks like it. I absolutely loved it. There are probably a few thousand dollar bills signed by guests and tacked all over the restaurant. For those who put their home cities on the bills it was pretty cool to see people from all over hitting up this place in hole in the wall La Grange. Then...the 49ers game was being shown on a couple of TVs over the bar that made me happy until it was obvious they were going to lose to the Chiefs. I digress. My wife had the tri tip sandwich which was perfectly cooked with a terrific BBQ sauce. I had the special chicken fried steak. I am so glad I did the half order because it was huge. The server said the full order was served on a platter and filled it up. It was served with really good mashed potatoes and a delicious if a little salty gravy. All in all it was a great meal. As we go camping near Yosemite a lot, I can definitely see us stopping by again.

**A Pleasant Surprise!** At first glance, you might not be sure if this is the place to stop, especially if you're considering waiting for In-N-Out. But trust me, stop here. Make sure to bring your cowboy boots and hat because you'll feel like you've stepped back in time upon entering this saloon. The history is all over the walls of this place. The food was great! We especially enjoyed the pork shanks. Honestly, if you just get a pork shank and a cold one, you're pretty much set to go! The service was fantastic. Christine gave us a warm welcome and was super accommodating on this hot summer day. We ended up sitting inside as the heat was hotter than a stolen tamale. There were picnic tables with shade outside, and there's a grassy area in the back, but sometimes it's hard to escape that summer sunshine. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and would recommend this place to anyone hungry for a good burger and a cold drink with friendly service. This is your stop.

Good service, good food, and good vibes! Prime rib and veggies always cooked to perfection.

Excellent service. Home made food & dressings. My salad was AMAZING... I did not expect I would like the food in a bar way out there. I tried the mashed potatoes and they were so yummy! clean restrooms for cowgirls & cowboys. The owner Shannon is a sweetheart & hard working man. Can't wait to meet his wife Ashley. He introduced me to the locals & everyone treated me kindly. great service & smiles from all the gals working. Definitely made me feel like I was one of them. Great selection of beer and they added liquor not too long ago. The drive here was so beautiful and I'm going back soon! This is a perfect place to get out of modesto and enjoy the drive & historical building that Louie's resides in! Go support this place ... you won't regret it.

Food was excellent. Had the large Cut of Prime Rib. Excellent . Appetizers on point. Excellent selection of beers. Suggest a Designated Driver for the ride home. Live Music on Saturday night. Service was good, but the drawback is long wait to get main meal. So sit back enjoy a beer and the music....
